About Us
David Bennington
Founder, Principal, Project Manager
Dave began his career as a carpenter and welder after graduating high school. He worked his way up the ranks in construction and accepted the opportunity to work as a project manager for a large construction firm. After executing new construction residential projects throughout Greater Washington DC, he opened Bennington Builders in 2009. With over 40 years in the construction industry, Dave is passionate about creating beautiful, functional spaces that reflect homeowner's unique style with a specialty in extensive and mid to large-scale home projects such as whole-house remodels, home additions, and exterior renovations.
Dave resides in Gaithersburg, MD with his son. He enjoys boating and cooking and during his free time gives back to the community by mentoring underprivileged men.
Paula Checkosky
Operations Manager, Lead Designer
Paula started at Bennington Builders in 2022. With a foundational career in Sales and Marketing, Paula returned to college and complete course work at the Corcoran College of Art + Design. After owning and operating a design studio for 22 years, she came to us bringing fresh ideas as a design professional.
As our Operations Manager, Paula wears many hats to include running the daily operations, kitchen design, customer service, and acts as a liaison between customers and project managers. Her passion is connecting with clients and creating beautiful kitchen + bath designs.
Paula resides in North Bethesda and enjoys hiking, mountain bike riding, and volunteering in her community.
